Simons Group has won a £9m contract with Siemens. Siemens recently revealed it will be investing £35 million into its Lincoln services by building a new global service operations centre and purchasing its Teal Park site. Simons Group, whose headquarters are on Doddington Road, will play an integral role in what's been described by Siemens as a 'milestone expansion'.
Tom Robinson, Chief Executive, said the contract was a major boost to the firm's local portfolio. "Simons has a dedicated logistics team who are tailor made for the job. We are delighted to have been awarded the contract and confident our team will deliver fantastic results. We are looking forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship with Siemens."
The Group will be working alongside Lincoln-based John Roberts Architects and civil and structural engineers, aba consulting.
Siemens operates the service element of its small gas turbine business at the business park in North Hykeham. As part of its expansion, the company will be building a Global Service Operations Centre to enable Siemens to relocate the parts and engine storage currently based at Freeman Road, Lincoln into a state-of-the-art 7,000 square metre facility.
In addition to the new development, Siemens will also purchase the original 11 acre Siemens' Feilden House site on the Teal Park industrial estate.
Work will begin next month with an expected completion date of May 2018.
