Thorough planning and design combined to allow Simons to deliver a building which incorporated the clinical needs of its users with the latest technology, minimising both construction and ongoing running costs.
The twelve bed learning disability unit was created using SIPs timber panels which made for a lightweight build, reducing the requirement for more expensive foundations, whilst providing a very energy efficient and well insulated structure. The building includes an activity room, clinic and low stimulus suites with excellent access to outdoor spaces including an enclosed courtyard and shared garden space.
The finished building permits people who are very unwell to receive the care they need whilst ensuring their safety and dignity are maintained.
