Bicester Village designer outlet is the luxury destination for discerning shoppers from across the UK. Only one hour’s drive from London, over 130 world renowned brands offer visitors significant savings on recommended retail prices, enticing a huge volume of visitors to the site each day.
The scheme involved demolition of an existing Tesco supermarket to make way for 31 brand new retail units, an additional 440 car parking spaces, new toilets and refurbishing two existing units via partial demolition and reconfiguration to extend the village’s offering. Simons set out to deliver this in a 60 week time frame, whilst continually adapting and reacting to its customer's needs.
This quality, signature development required bespoke hoarding to be erected which resembled a traditional brick wall, to separate the working site from visitors to the existing retail units. A new temporary access road was created to reduce the impact on the day to day operations of the outlet and Simons also managed to accommodate the fit-out operation whilst completing its own works.
The new units opened in October 2017 – on time and to the full satisfaction of the client – a fantastic result all round.
