Circle Birmingham Hospital

In April 2017, Simons began work on the former BBC Pebble Mill site to create Circle Health’s latest private hospital in the centre of Edgbaston’s renowned medical quarter. The new building is an addition to Circle’s other hospitals in Bath, Nottingham and Reading. In July 2018, Simons was also awarded the second phase of this project, which will conclude in July 2019. Once complete, the scheme will be the second largest private hospital in the UK.

The hospital is based on an expandable model which means it can be adapted to meet increased demand now and going forward. With a build schedule over 77 weeks for phase 1, the hospital will boast three operating theatres (expandable to six in the future) an endoscopy procedure room and 18 in-patient bedrooms packed with the latest technology. It is anticipated a significant number of rehabilitation beds for patients suffering from neurological and musculoskeletal conditions, accompanied by rehabilitation facilities, will be developed longer term. Phase 2, which is already underway, will be a dedicated rehabilitation centre.
