Warehouse Facility, Milton Keynes

Simons constructed a massive one million sq ft warehouse facility for John Lewis at Magna Park; a project almost twice the size of Amazon’s largest distribution centre.

Single storey steel frame structures, externally wall clad with associated office space, were created and linked by a 92m bridge, 7.8m above ground level, between Magna Park 1 and Magna Park 2. The building of the bridge had to ensure that the service yard could still continue operations within the existing facility throughout the works – no mean feat!

Lorry access and parking were also created alongside landscaped areas of ground to deliver an overall facility that can store 235,000 John Lewis products in one place and process 5,000 packages per hour.

Simons has been delivering distribution and warehouse facilities for over 25 years and is widely recognised as being one of the leaders in this field of construction – something the Milton Keynes facility definitely illustrates.
