Multi-Storey Car Park Sheffield

Upon winning the single stage D&B tender, Simons created the car park around a steel and in-situ concrete frame with a king post retaining wall. It was critical necessity that the university’s optic cables were relocated during the build, which also included a 4736sq ft retail unit alongside the car park.

The engineered solution, based on a pre-cast concrete car park with an adjoining piled retaining wall, provided more car parking spaces – 561 in total – whilst removing the requirement to excavate a further basement level. The finished site is within easy walking distance of both Sheffield Children’s Hospital and the university campus and offers ample disabled parking as well as having 24 hours CCTV in place.

Car-parks have been created around the country by Simons for various clients including more than a 1000 spaces in Stafford and a £22m multi-storey car park in Milton Keynes for Hermes.
