Fundraising marks completion of Sheffield Children's Hospital expansion
Celebrations around the completion of the new wing at Sheffield Children’s Hospital were taken to new heights earlier this month, specifically to the top of a mountain!
To commemorate the end of the hospital expansion project, Alan Heathcote, a Project Manager at the hospital, took on the ‘Ascent of Mount Canigou’ in the Pyrenees and, sponsored by Simons Group, the main contractors on the project, Alan raised more than £500 for The Children’s Hospital Charity.
"We are very proud of the Sheffield Children’s Hospital project and didn’t hesitate when Alan asked Simons to sponsor him – it was a fantastic challenge in aid of a fantastic cause,” said Steve Giles, Health Director at Simons Group.
Tchad Western, Corporate Partnerships Manager at The Children’s Hospital Charity added: “Alan’s tireless efforts to make Sheffield Children’s Hospital even better know no bounds! We’re so thankful to him and all of his sponsors for their fantastic fundraising. Every penny raised makes a huge difference to the thousands of young patients and their families who rely on our specialist care every week”.
Money raised through donations buys life-saving equipment for the hospital, as well as funding vital research and treatment for thousands of children from across the world.
