Simons Group acknowledged for 5 years as CCS Associate
Simons Group have been acknowledged by the Considerate Constructors Scheme for being an associate for 5 years.
Phil Kennedy, Group Construction Director for Simons said, "Being an associate of the Considerate Constructors Scheme is a role that we take seriously, consistently striving to improve the image of construction. Our efforts to embed innovative levels of health and safety are commonplace on our sites and we really appreciate the recognition that CCS shows for these efforts. We will continue to enjoy engaging our supply chain in these efforts by working in a sustainable way, whilst giving great importance to the well-being in and around our projects."
With a new scoring system established in 2013, project teams have risen to the challenge across the group, with a score of 45/50 achieved during the construction of Sainsbury’s foodstore in Melton Mowbray. More recently, the company’s team working on the major refurbishment of Capital & Regional’s Waterside Shopping Centre in Lincoln achieved 10/10 for their innovative levels of health and safety on site.
This year Simons will be creating a bespoke checklist for all sites in line with the new scoring system, to ensure that sites are reaching the highest standards, whilst engaging the project teams and supply chain in helping to improve the image of construction.
