Simons Group announce new Distribution Director
Simons have announced an internal promotion; appointing Mark Shea as Sector Director for Industrial and Distribution.
Mark joined Simons in September 2015 and has played an instrumental role in securing numerous project wins recently, alongside supporting several project teams with his extensive civil engineering knowledge. Mark started his construction career in 1989 with the Civil Engineering Contractor Morrison Shand, before moving to the building sector in 1997 with the Japanese contractor Kajima. Here he delivered several landmark schemes such as the conversion of the Conservative Club in London on St James’ Street into a new HSBC HQ. He is well-versed in delivering major offsite manufactured building projects in both light weight steel frame and reinforced concrete, such as the RIBA Stirling Prize Residential scheme, Accordia in Cambridge. Mark‘s passion remains in Civil and Industrial Construction, which was highlighted in his recent role as National Construction Manager at Aggregate Industries and also as Chairman of CECA (Civil Engineering Contractors Association) NW.

Simons Construction has been delivering industrial, distribution and warehousing facilities for over 25 years, providing over 1 billion sq ft of space across the UK over the last 10 years with a value in the order of £1/2 billion. The recently completed project for TNT in Swindon was Simons Construction’s 66 th project for IDI Gazeley, in a 25 year relationship. Recent industrial highlights for Simons Construction include two teams returning to Magna Park in Milton Keynes; delivering an extension to the A.G. Barr facility originally built by Simons Construction three years ago, and John Lewis’s MP3 facility which will complete in the upcoming months.
