Simons Group have announced Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity, Macmillan Cancer Support, Alzheimer’s Society and Stroke Association as the fourselected charities the company will be channelling fundraising efforts for.

Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity and Macmillan Cancer Support have been selected by the company’s Charity Sponsorship Panel. Employees were then asked to nominate charities close to their hearts and to vote for two from a shortlist of the most nominated organisations, with Alzheimer’s Society and Stroke Association receiving an overwhelming majority of the votes. Smaller donations remaining available through the PGH Trust and the Charity and Sponsorship Panel.

Throughout Men’s Health week (15th – 22nd June), the company have been raising awareness across the workforce, highlighting the services on offer for men’s health through Alzheimer’s Society, Macmillan and Stroke Association. The company’s Building Healthier strategy, launched in April this year, will support the fundraising efforts as well as encourage a holistic approach to wellbeing across the workforce and supply chain, highlighting the efforts made my charitable organisations and the resources available to all.

Tanya Taylor, Fundraising Manager at Macmillan Cancer Support said, "I am hugely excited about our working partnership, I truly believe that together we can achieve great things!"

Michelle Page, HR Manager added, “For me it is taking staff engagement to the next level. We need to ensure our employees are not only happy at work but endeavour to support them in being fit and healthy. In order to attract and retain people into our industry we need to ensure that as employers we take a keen interest in looking after them. Collaborating on matters close to people’s hearts and health is a great way to ensure we keep our teams engaged and educated about well-being.“

She added, “For our employees to have voted in the waves that they did just shows how important these charities are to all of us at Simons and we are all so excited to do our bit and help raise awareness and money for each of them!“
