Simons Group host Wellbeing Day for employees
To raise awareness for World Mental Health Day today, Lincolnshire-based property solutions company Simons Group have been encouraging employees to look at their own wellbeing by hosting local specialists and workshops.
Organisations that joined Simons for the day included Mind, Access LN6, Lincolnshire Sport and WPA Health Insurance. Employees were invited to partake in Yoga classes, along with being offered Indian head massages, nutritional guidance from local specialists, health insurance advice, smoking cessation support and introductions to neighbouring community activities.
Employees of the business are equally as keen to encourage healthier living and have embarked upon creating ‘Building Healthier‘, a company strategy to highlight healthy living and to help realise mental health issues that may arise at work. Once feedback and suggestions have been gathered from employees, details of the ‘Building Healthier‘ strategy will be provided and implemented.
Paul Hodgkinson, Executive Chairman of Simons, has spoken publicly about the need to raise awareness for the importance of mental health and to diminish the perception which exists both outside and inside the construction industry.
Michelle Page, HR Manager said of the event, “This is the first Wellbeing Day we have undertaken and it has been a huge success. We know that we have a happy workforce following our recent engagement survey, however we feel we have a duty of care to encourage a healthier workforce.
