Investors in People is the UK's leading accreditation for business improvement through people management, and provides a wealth of resources for businesses to innovate, improve and grow, with a focus on good people making great business.
Paul Devoy, Head of Investors in People, said, “Achieving the Investors in People Silver standard is something that any organisation should be truly proud of. It is the sign of a company which is very committed to good people management practice and we’d like to congratulate Simons Group on their achievement.”
Commenting on the award, Simons Group’s HR Manager Michelle Page said, “To progress from IIP standards to silver is a fantastic achievement. Investors in People recognise ‘great people make a great business’, so this recognition marks another significant benchmark for our business and pays respect to how important our employees are. We are so proud to see this best practice appreciated but also, and more importantly, our employees’ strengths, ambitions and ideas that sit behind our successful business.“
Simons Group specialises in retail, health, distribution and commercial projects, with reputable design, development and construction business units. The company has seen a fluctuation in employee figures over its 70 years of business, which were celebrated earlier this year. The company began with around 50 employees and reached a maximum of 1000 employees in the 1980's. Over the last 20 years, Simons began outsourcing their supply chain and closed nationwide offices, reducing to 150 employees and is now on the rise again to an effective and streamlined workforce of 200.
