Simons Group shortlisted for Three RICS Awards
Simons Group has been named as a finalist in three categories of the 2015 RICS Regional Awards, seeing North Lincolnshire Shopping Park shortlisted for the Community Benefit, Commercial and Infrastructure categories.
The RICS Awards showcase the most inspirational regional initiatives and developments in land, property, construction and the built environment, celebrating the talents of surveyors, property developers, engineers, planners and architects, to name just a few.
North Lincolnshire Shopping Park operates over a 110,195 sq ft site, anchored by a 50,000 sq ft Mark and Spencer store, a Debenhams, a new Boots store, a drive thru Costa Coffee restaurant, a Subway and 450 new parking spaces. This project incorporated every aspect of Simons; with design, development and construction teams all involved from day one right through to the park opening.
The park is providing hundreds of jobs and a great boost to Scunthorpe, as promised during the planning process which saw extensive public consultation. Once on site, Simons continued to develop on the high standards of community engagement and neighbourly consideration, providing educational insight and invaluable local ties.
The regional winners will be announced at a prestigious awards ceremony in May 2015. The winners of the regional categories will be entered into the national RICS Awards Grand Final, to be held at The Savoy, London in October 2015. These regional entries will then compete to be the overall category winner and for the ultimate accolade – Project of the Year.
