The team have settled into their surroundings incredibly well and are thoroughly enjoying working with Nuffield and the consultation team. It is our intention to keep the local community up to date with our progress on site. To date we have successfully completed the enabling works and look forward to the challenging works ahead in delivering this advanced facility.
Welcoming the start of the construction of the new hospital, Maxine Estop, the hospital’s director, speaks highly of the Simons construction team: “ This is a very exciting time for all of us at the Nuffield Health Cambridge Hospital, as we have been planning for the new hospital for so long. To see Simons preparing the site to such a high standard and now starting construction with concern for, and awareness of, our patients, consultants, employees and neighbours makes us appreciate just how professional a team they are."
As an associate member of the Considerate Constructor Scheme, Simons have been working with Nuffield Health and the local community, to ensure that all parties are kept fully informed on progress and possible disruption. To date, St Faith‘s School has take part in a hoarding design competition, which currently can be seen on the site car-park hoarding. During the build programme, Simons will be engaging in further activities with St Faith’s, with several site visits and presentations due to take place. Simons will continue, in partnership with the hospital team, to hold residents’ meetings and will conduct site tours during the construction phase.
