Simons Group start work for IDI Gazeley in Swindon
Simons Group have been named as the contractor of choice for a 55,898 sq ft (5,193 sq m) built-to suit state of the art parcel hub for international express, mail delivery and logistics services company TNT and IDI Gazeley at G. Park, Swindon.
Simons start work on site next week and construction is due to take 24 weeks, with the facility due to be fully operational in Autumn 2015.
This will be the 66th distribution project carried out between Simons and IDI Gazeley, a leading global investor and developer of logistics warehouses and distribution parks.
The building will serve as a specialist regional parcel distribution warehouse serving TNT’s rapidly expanding online delivery business serving deliveries throughout Swindon and the South West.
The building will feature 47,717 sq ft (4,433 sq m) of distribution space with the capacity to accommodate 62 delivery vehicles. It will also benefit from 104 car parking spaces, 6,154 sq ft (572 sq m) of office space, security gatehouse, 50 metre truck court depth, 101 loading doors and 32m building depth.
When fully operational the facility is expected to create between 100-250 jobs from the local community.

G.Park Swindon comprises of a 98-acre site within close proximity to junction 15 of the M4 motorway. It is capable of accommodating built-to-suit logistics warehouse from 50,000 sq ft up to 400,000 sq ft.
