Simons launches exclusive Team Theo kit with Sheffield Children's Hospital
Simons Group have launched an exclusive cycling kit with The Children’s Hospital Charity in Sheffield.
The limited edition cycling kit, made by Santini, will help fund physiotherapy equipment in the new wing of the hospital being built by Simons Group, the kit’s main sponsor. Over 50,000 physiotherapy appointments took place last year, meaning every mile peddled will make a difference for up to 25 children a day.
David Vernon-Edwards, director of The Children’s Hospital Charity, said: “We’re really excited about our new cycling kit and would like to thank all of the sponsors for making it possible. We’d love as many people to get involved in cycling and raise much needs funds for the hospital.
Mark Holden, Group Director of Construction raised over £5,000 for the charity last year, cycling across Cambodia and said of the Team Theo launch, “Simons Group have a long history of positively giving back to the communities we work in, and we are delighted to be supporting the delivery of the Trust’s vision of a state-of-the-art, world class facility that will improve patient care for this and future generations. Additionally, as a Sheffield parent with first-hand experience of their excellent care, I am extremely proud that we are helping to launch the fantastic new Team Theo kit as the main sponsor and hope this will further help to make our extraordinary hospital even better.“
Other sponsors who have made this project possible include Todd & Barlow, one of Sheffield’s highly ranked gentlemen’s barbers and Edge, a Sheffield property consultancy.
Ed Grosvenor, owner of Todd & Barlow, said “I feel it is important for local businesses to work together with local charities. I believe helping to produce a high quality cycling kit will raise both awareness & funds for a fantastic charity. “
Associate Director Rob Nixon joined Simons Group and Todd & Barlow to help launch the kit and raise much needed funds for Sheffield Children’s Hospital.
Along with the physiotherapy equipment, the funds raised will also aid The Children’s Hospital Charity’s Make it Better new wing appeal creating two new physiotherapy rooms. This will make a huge difference to the current rehabilitation which often takes place at the bedside, in a corridor or on the stairs which is unsuitable for lots of reasons. The rooms mean that children can be treated in a private, purpose built and well equipped space. Works on site have been making significant progress, with particular focus on consulting rooms, bedrooms and the main reception area, with the playtube soon to be complete. The outpatient facilities are due to be handed over later this year.
On Thursday 7 th July, Simons Group’s cycling team will be cycling 100 miles in the Castle to Coast to Castle charity cycling event in Lincolnshire and have already raised over £1,000 for The Children’s Hospital Charity.
To get hold of the limited edition kit, cyclists can purchase them at Race Scene, or join Team Theo and take part in a sponsored event. Visit www.tchc.org.uk to find out more.
