Simons scoops three awards for being an outstanding considerate constructor
Simons has won a Silver and two Bronze Awards at the prestigious Considerate Constructors Scheme’s 2016 National Site Awards for AG Barr at Magna Park (Silver), M&S’s Simply Food store at Meole Brace and John Lewis and Waitrose at Horsham (both Bronze).
Over 3,500 guests from construction sites of all different sizes were celebrated at ceremonies during April at venues in Edinburgh, London and Manchester. The annual awards recognise the highest levels of consideration and care shown by sites registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme towards their neighbourhoods, the general public, their workforce and the
environment. They are judged by Scheme Monitors visiting the site and rating their considerate performance against the Code of Considerate Practice, set up to improve the image of the construction industry.
Scheme Chief Executive Edward Hardy said: “Congratulations to Simons on achieving three awards. This is an exceptional achievement and highlights how Considerate Constructors Scheme-registered sites are continually raising standards way above and beyond statutory requirements.”
Mark Holden, Group Director of Construction for Simons said of the awards, “To see our teams recognised so positively amongst peers and competitors has been fantastic. Not only are we able to celebrate the best performance across our workforce, we are able to highlight how considerate our people and our schemes are, and how sites should be across the industry. Simons‘ way of working is completely in tune with the Considerate Constructors Scheme and we are proud to be ambassadors and award winners. Long may it continue!“
