Students striving to become Simons' apprentices
More than 25 Lincoln College students are being put through their paces this week as Simons Group begins its search for eight new apprentices who will undertake a Level 3 Diploma in Construction in the Built Environment.
There has been an overwhelming interest from students keen to learn more about the industry and get a foothold into the property solutions business.
Hosting a three-day workshop at its head office, the Simons’ team is getting to know the students as they take part in group challenges and meet key members of staff. The sessions will culminate in a formal interview for each student and the successful candidates will be taken on a two-year apprenticeship.
"It’s fantastic to see such a diverse group of students so interested in our industry,” said Yvonne Day, Interim Head of HR. “We hope they enjoy their time with us – we’ve tried to make it as interesting as possible and give them all an opportunity to shine. They’ll get an insight into the business and there will be a lot of group interaction, when their problem-solving skills will be put to the test.
“As a local business, we’re delighted to work with Lincoln College and are really looking forward to welcoming our new apprentices to Simons Group.”
